It is warm and spicy, and has significant effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, reducing swelling and pain.<i>P. notoginseng</i> is mainly restricted to mountain areas with altitudes of 1200–2000 m around 23.5°N and 104°E in Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, in China."
